Not sure if this has been discussed on here, but, wow. Basically, she bought an expensive, low production car, crashed it, didn’t have enough insurance coverage, and was shocked that it was expensive to fix, sued because she thought the bill was unreasonably inflated, burned through several law firms over multiple years, and now has to pay the full cost of repairs, plus storage fees, plus legal expenses, plus interest.

I'm not positive, but it sounds like she might also have been blaming the dealership for selling her the car in the first place?

Ok, that’s weird, the earlier one just jumped backwards in time by a couple of hours. Link for the latecomers:

You can't fix stupid. If stupid doesn't hurt, then it should at least be expensive.

You beat me to it, I was going to say this is the most Richmond thing I’ve seen all day.
You can’t tell me licenses aren’t for sale.

I shit you not, I just typed in ICBC Richmond in Google and this came up.
Then if you type the search for the bank then description for ICBC.com (which is the licensing/insurance) is the wiki for this bank.

If you’re dumb enough to decline collision/comprehensive (or the equivalent in your jurisdiction) plus a depreciation waiver (for as long as the company will allow) on a limited edition Aston and then try to blame others when you crashed the car yourself, that makes you a large, gaping asshole of a person.
Her lack of English speaking skills and perceived wealth are shitty arguments. You knew that you were buying a $200k car, pretty much everything after that is math and getting the itemized breakdown so thst you don’t get fucked. There’s also a perception of clientele who visit an Aston Martin dealer versus the clientele of a “no credit, bad credit, all credit accepted” used car dealer, and that perception is that one person has a fuck ton more money than the other.
It’s her lack of driving skills, not English skills, that led to this debacle. On the other hand, not 100% sure how ICBC agents are trained but if I was the agent handling that I would not have let a client go without full coverage on a car like that unless someone else approved it since I would never let my name be attached to such ignorant decision making. Frontline customer service quality varies wildly from agent to agent, in my experience.

Many years ago Ferrari was sued by the family of a young man that died in a crash, if my memeory serves correct, on Mu lholland Drive. The family claiming that the young man was not aware of the c apabilities of the car and that is why he crashed and perished. I’m not sure how that case ended, but I know it was used as an examp le of cor porate liability suits for several years.
